Luna's idea to start a new life in a new kingdom was perhaps not the best decision in the world. But her parents were noticeably disappointed with her and she did not want to be around that for the rest of her life. Heaving a heavy sigh, she settled in at a table by the back and ordered a large drink. She knew that, as an Elf, it would take much much more than this to even begin to affect her. She just liked the taste.
As they set it down, she paid for a few and then began to drink the one on the table. The fizzy, cold beer felt good on her tongue and down her throat as she slipped some down. She was undoubtedly going to be here as long as they would let her. She settled back in her chair, kicking her boots up on the table, and looked around, hoping someone would approach her so she could have some fun with them. Weather that was conning them into something, seducing them into paying for her drinks, or really just having someone to chat to. She wasn't sure what it would be just yet, she just needed a victim.
(ooc: hoooorrible opener... but there you have it.)

A not so victim-like victim walked into the Tavern with a strong brew in mind. He knew this place for its alcohol and that's what he was here for. He may be a dragon with nerves of steel, but he would be going back to Aesir soon he needed something to take the edge off.
As the doors swung closed behind him he looked around for a seat and he saw something he really didn't expect, an elf. Now bloodwing HATED nearly ever race of sentient being that wasn't a dragon. but Elves where a mixed bag. Some where pretentious and rude and deserved to be eaten or burned alive, some where as idealistic as humans and again deserved either digestion or conflagration. and then there where others, a little rarer outside the Drow, that where fun. He would just have to find out who she was.
So without showing any outward interest in her he waved down the barmaid asked her for a pint and made his way to the elf girl's table. Ready to do just about anything, or her for that matter, but lets not jump ahead too quickly.

What a dump. Sure the booze was good, but the bars back home, or at the Dwarfish' neighboring kingdom, had silver and gold chairs and tables made of marble or granite. This place had beaten down wooden tables and rickety chairs that squeaked when you moved. Each table was lit by a single candle, and there were a few lanterns hanging from the cobble walls around the dark wood floor. There was a small stage at the front for entertainment.... And tonight it was a Bard, singing about the Old Kingdom. She raised an eyebrow at this. She remembered the war. How horrendous indeed. She had been nothing but a mere nurse back then, and she would never go back.
Having as good as hearing as she did, she could tell when footsteps were headed her way. She turned her head and grinned as a gentleman with a pint came towards her, not looking particularly interested in her, like some of the men in the tavern were. But she knew one thing he didn't know she knew or didn't want her to know. And that was that she was the only elf in here, and he was going to try and figure out just what kind of elf she was.
That was the excuse she had heard for decades.
Grinning at him, she took her boots off the table and offered him a seat with a small gesture of her fragile hands. "Have a seat," she smiled lightly. Oh, he was interesting indeed. She could tell she was in for a good night.

"Oh, thank you dear." He said taking the seat that was offered. He was silent for a moment and then said. "It a bit rare to see ears like yours in this city. What's your reason for coming to this dump of a city." He said having noticed she wasn't quite pleased with her surrounding. He hoped this didn't mean the pretentious type.
He looked up at the bard. Seriously? He would have to fix the entertainment once he got to know this elf.

Dear? Oh well. At least he thanked her. She watched him as he sat down and she could tell that he was uncomfortable with himself. Something told her that she was dealing with a possible Shapeshifter or maybe just someone that was on edge around... her type. She hated when people called her that. She took another long sip of the beer and looked over at him. He was silent for a moment and then said that they didn't see much folk with ears like hers around here. She nodded lightly and then he asked her what made her come to a slum like this. She gave a crooked smirk and then leaned forward and whispered to him.
"'Cause humans here are clueless. The pickin's are better here," she smiled and leaned back in her chair. "What about you? What are you doing here?" she picked up her pint and took a sip. "Could be the beer. I would not blame you for a moment." she grinned and chuckled lightly, waiting to hear what he would have to say.

He liked her already. He smiled, "I'm here for the entertainment can't you tell?" He said eyeing the bard and trying too keep a strait face has he lied about something that almost hurt. He took a drink of his beer and began wondering if he still had any resistance to it. If that had been taken away this would be a short night. Seriously though I'm here to relax a little not like you can do that though with a bard sing about ways that are dead, and should be buried."

She grinned.
They were going to get along just fine. She laughed out loud as he told her that he was here for the entertainment. He looked so serious, but she knew that he was lying right through his teeth. She agreed to what he said about what the Bard was singing about. She looked past the man in front of her, deciding weather or not to reveal her age to him just yet and say that she had been there...
"Hey!" She called out to the Bard. He stopped and looked at her. As well as the rest of the people in the joint. "How about you sing your sissy ass right out of here? Go sing where my ears can't hear you." she said. He blinked at her, nodded, and left. There were a few cheers and claps as she settled back down in her chair, from leaning on the table, and she nodded to them as the people on the stage looked at one another and just went back to playing music that people would like. She rolled her eyes.
"For the gods' sake..." She smirked. "What's your name, friend?"

"Just call me Alex." he said to her he never truly said that was his name just that she could call him that. Still he had to keep the deception going. "And in this city people are seriously in need of a reality check. So many still follow the old ways, choosing not to learn from their mistakes and adapt. It mostly just laziness hopefully I can start to change their minds in the end." He said a dark grin cutting his lips.
He looked at her. It only takes one pebble to send ripples through the pond of life...." He cracked up that little tid-bit of philosophy just seemed too serious and extremely corny. and it made him laugh. I think that school is rubbing off on me." He said shaking his head and taking another drink.

Alex. Simple, yet easy to remember. But still there was a curiosity inside her that was growing... she needed to know who this man was and what his intentions were. But thus far, he seemed to be keeping her in good company. Settling back in her chair, she crossed her thin arms across her bosom and litened to him intently. She quite agreed, and nodded in approval. Sure, the man was a mystery, but he had the right ideas. And that got her thinking: maybe this man was as sly and conning as she was... but then again, there was always more than met the eye.
School? Perhaps he taught. "Are you at the academy up the hill about a half days journey from here?" She grinned politely as he laughed at the quote he just gave, and waited a response.

He thought the school would be a boring topic and here she was asking about it. "Well yes. I Teach there, well I'm suppose to I have yet to teach anyone anything, And I might not get the chance to." Here was an opening. maybe he could play the sympathy card.

"Oh! And I'm Luna by the way... Terrible manners. So sorry." She winked lightly. Sure, it was playful of her, but she had had no action since she had got here and she was thirsty for it. Well.. there had been a half dozen robberies and countless amounts of pick-pockets, but that wasn't the same as person to (or on) person. She chuckled lightly and then heard him say that he was a teacher there and that he was supposed to, though he had never gotten the chance.
And that he never may.
She raised a brow, but didn't ask questions. It wasn't her business to poke her nose into what other people were doing. Unless there was a benefit for her in the situation. She drained her pint and waved for another. "I'm sorry to hear that..." she said lightly.
Ugh. Manners.
(Ooc: haha - i realized she never gave him her name....my bad!)

Did she just wink at him. He had to hold back the devious a somewhat lusty leer and instead just smile. If she was wanting a 'good time' she was sending all the correct messages. And he would gladly obliged as such a thing would be the icing on the cake. He was trying to relax after all
"I know but really it will be my own fault if I don't get a chance. I'm the one going into Aesir for a book that may have been destroyed by now." He said. "And what games are you planning to play with these [fingerquote]Clueless[/fingerquote] humans of Avaren?" He asked. Then as soon as the barmaid came by he asked her. "Would you give this lady what ever money she payed and put her drinks on me?" He then looked to me. "Call me insane for buying an elf her drinks, but but I doubt I'll need the money anyway." She seemed to be the type that wouldn't give anything up without an exchange of some sort, and what he had just done may well break him, but he really wanted what she was playing at.

A smile. Oooh what a day. She was going to have some fun with Alex. She grinned back and took the pint from the barmaid and took another long drink. Setting it back down, she raised a brow at his idea of going back to the Old Kingdom for some book that may not even be there. What a silly idea... but she would keep that comment to herself.
As soon as the barmaid was about to leave, he asked her to give back the money that Luna had paid and that he was going to buy her the drinks. Luna's brows raised and she smiled brightly at him. He said to call him insane for buying an elf drinks, but he didn't need the money. She grinned brightly and winked again. "You sir: are insane!" She grinned and then asked for something a little stronger than the brew she was drinking. But she would of course, finish this one. It was rude to send back the beer. Not to the bar, but to the beer.
"And for this wonderful treat..." she said as the barmaid set the money back on the table, and she winked at the barmaid, "... what do I owe you, my dear insane friend?"

He smiled she understood he wanted something well what other reason would he have done that. and he wasn't going to disappoint and Lying was pointless. "Well, I'm going to a place that might as well be hell, and may not come back. I was hoping to partake in the comforts only a woman can give to a man before I go. Its sort of the reason I'm at this bar, to drink and numb the nerves, and then I happen to see a most beautiful creature with just the comforts I could use." He said sure there where men taking notes, and betting on whether or not this guy was about to succeed with the elf. He ignored whatever whispers there may have been. He had what he wanted as far as he was concerned. she already seemed interested to begin with, he had just got there first.

She laughed out loud. "Man! You really do just cut to the chase, don't you?" she grinned. She thought for a moment. It could lead to a long night... or a short one. She thought about: he was for real, she was indeed in need, and there were people all around them betting on it. As if it were their business. She shot them a glare when they said he was no where near her type and they shut up and turned around, still listening.
"Well... good sir... I can definitely offer those comforts... much more than you know. But. I'm not easy." she winked. "Gotta work for it, m'dear... but that isn't to say you have all ready scored points to a long romp in the hay."
Let the games begin.
