At the advice of Azrael Kojo, in human form for once, made his way to the academy for magic. His very presence drew every eye to him. A man with a complexion of burnt dirt really didn't fit in a crowd of people as pale as oak wood. And he wearing trousers and a tunic that where a bit too short on him as as he walked around bare foot they. the clothes had been borrowed from someone else so he had little choice in what he wore. As such he stuck out quite a bit.
Ignoring the whispers and stares he, and stifing the urge to turn into a parrot and fly away he continued on, walking into the gate of the academy. He looked around taking in his surroundings, he was so not use to the city. and he looked like a fish out of water completely lost.

Settled in the gardens of the academy, Tiy had her nose in a book and a apple in her hand. She had always found it so peaceful here, and after loosing her Zeion... She was looking for as much peace and company she could find. She read on about what her grandfather used to tell her about when she was little. She looked at the signet ring on her finger: a combination of white and black in a spherical shape. She smiled lightly, thinking about her grandfather and how she would have to visit him at his store in the market place. It had been far too long since she had seen him last.
She sighed lightly and set the book on her knee, taking another bite out of her apple. She looked around and heard a commotion from the other side of the ivy-covered wall. Curiosity won out and she stood and walked to the edge of the garden where she saw what people must have been talking about: a man with dark skin had just entered the main courtyard.... A Shapeshifter. Watching him, but trying not to be rude about it, she raised a hand, and hoped that he would notice her and come over to her. She did not want to draw any more attention to the man than he all ready was himself. But he must of had some sort of business here and she wanted to help.
Or perhaps the eagerness of never meeting a shapeshifter is what intrigued her the most...

He had not come in as a parrot he had come in as a man. He definately would have liked to have turned into a bird now seeing as his color alone was causing rumors of 'black' magic.
As he looked around he noticed the woman waving to him. so he walked over to her. Once he was within earshot he asked. "Are yu in charge of this academy?" He asked curiously.

Just her luck, the man saw her and he approached her. She smiled lihgtly at him and when he asked if she were in charge of the academy she shook her head lightly. "No. I am not. But I do know the man that is. Would you like to follow me, sir?" she asked him, looking past him at all the starring eyes. She gave them all a glare and they let the man be. They would all think twice about crossing a Council member.
She began to walk back into the gardens. It would be a less-populated way to walk to the doors and get him in. "May I ask what your business at the Academy is...?" she asked him politely.

He nodded and followed her into the garden. "Not quite sure, to be honest ma'am." He said. "I arrived into just today. A man named Azrael gave me some clothing and suggest i come either here or the barracks. If I wanted to find shelter. Because I'd rather not conform to an army that's foreign to me I chose here. Because I do have some magical abilities. And a roof over my head, though I'm not as use to it, would probably be best." He explained. Taking one question at a time he knew the next question would probably be 'where did you come from?', and then 'Why are you so far from home?' Which he would answer when the questions where asked, not before.

Nodding slowly as he told her why she was here, she smiled lightly and looked at him as they walked. She stopped for a moment and then carried on. If he were denied here, or they could not find Izlin, she would be more than happy to give him a roof over his head. She had tons of spare rooms in her large house a half of days ride from here. She looked at him again as they kept going through the gardens, full of greens and trees. The flowers were gone due to the winter.
"Well... If we can find Izlin, I'm sure he could help you find a place to stay..." she had to know more about him before she would let him into her house. "Where did you come from?" She asked him. It looked like he expected these questions, so she went ahead and asked him.

He listened as she talked about this Izlin. the one incharge of this place and then the obvious question came. "I come from the jungles to the far far south." He said, its so much warmer there and the animals are a bit bigger." He explained. Decideding to forget his own advice he also explained, "I'm here like this because my Village and my people where destroyed by the greed of others for the gold in out caves."

She listened to him as he explained why he was here and where he was from. 'Larger animals'? Maybe that's where Jez was from. She had never known where she had come from, only that she was living a remarkably long life for a wolf and was quite a bit larger than normal wolves. She nodded and gave a sad sigh. "I'm sorry to hear about greed destroying your home. But I am glad you have found refuge, or are looking for it, here in Avaren... You know... If you ever need a place to stay... my house has many rooms. And I believe the animal that lives with me is from your home. If you would like to come stay with me, just until you have found a proper place for yourself, you are more than welcome to it."

He smiled, "I don't know, to tell you the truth I'm barely comfortable with these surroundings, no offense to the builders of course. I'm just use to living in a jungle with nothing but a leaf roof, and wooden sides. This city has so many people and all of them look at me like I'm disease ridden, And I'm not." He said making sure she knew that. Thank you for the offer though.

She looked around to see if people were watching them. They weren't... thank the gods. She looked at him again, shaking her head. "The people you will find, here are not used to new things. They are very much old fashioned, following the customs of the old kingdom. As a member of the Ruling Council, I strive to help them understand that they need to accept new ways and new people." she nodded to him. "And you have this strange vibe about you... I'm intrigued by it... but. I'm sure that's the only reason that you're standing out. And after a while, I'm sure the people will not stare as much. It's just the waiting process that is a pain."
She smiled at him, hoping she was making sense.

He gave her a look, but said nothing he knew it was his skin color the drew the stares. "So anyway. Azrael said I would need to show off some magical talent in order to stay here. He soundsed doubtful, even though he saw my power for himself, that they would accept me. Maybe I should get a second opinion." He said.

She nodded. Who was she to go against what Azrael said? He was just as important, if not more so on the Ruling Council. She looked up at the man and thought for a moment. "In that case... we will have to find Izlin and see what he thinks about you.... Shall we?" she held a hand out to invite him to go into the door she was holding open.

Fortunately for Tiy, she didn't have to search long for Izlin. At that moment, he appeared in the door she was holding open. Under one arm, he held a bundle of scrolls. He had just been on his way to a friend elsewhere in the city. A cartographer by trade, he was also more than willing to make copies of things for Izlin, such as intricate runes and the like, with great skill and precision.
Thinking Tiy had seen him with his arms full and was holding the door open for his passing, he muttered a vague "Thanks," as he brushed passed her.

She smiled brightly when she saw Izlin walking towards the door, his arms full of old scrolls and papers. She nodded to him out of respect and then saw that he must have thought that she was just holding the door open for him. She blinked, paused, and then let the door close. "Izlin.... I have someone that Azrael said should come talk to you. He needs a place to stay here and he said that he has magical powers." She informed as she stepped down the stairs, holding up her dress, as she stood next to him, she let it go and smiled at him lightly. "And, as always, it's wonderful to see you sir."

After Tiy sort of introduced him he spoke up. "Hello sir my names is Kojo and, um would you like some help carrying those scrolls?" he asked offering help carry some. He might as well start making a good impression.
