Amaya stood in front of the gate. Her long white dress was covered in dirt at the bottom. She had been walking a long time and her bare feet were sore. The wind blew behind her causing her long dark brown hair to blow in front of her face. She sighed a heavy sigh and gripped the strap of the satchel that hung on her body. She wondered how people here would treat her if they knew what she was. The village people from the last place she was chased her out. they were afraid of her even though she hadn't done anything to them.
"Might as well go in. " She said to herself.
Slowly she lifted one bare foot in front of the the other. Excitement fluttered in her stomach. She sensed that this place was different. That everything was going to be different.

Walking around the city, she had been at the market place for most of the day shopping and just walking around. She was currently sitting at the fountain in the courtyard of the grand entrance talking to a few young children as their parents stood not too far away and listened to her story...
'Then what happened!' the little girl on her lap asked. Tiy smiled.
"Well... You see... once the burglur had stabbed me, my husband had gone crazy! He started yelling, cursing and chasing after him. Of course, the robber did not get anything from us, other than an attempt at my life...
"Still clutching to my side, I stood and stumbled after the man in the garden of my house. He was trying to get out by climbing the wall. I grabbed him and flung him on the ground, where my husband ran out after me and pressed his sword to his throat. The man was terrifyed and knew that he had chosen the wrong lady to kill. We cut him along the face and then..... I blacked out. What happened after that... my husband never told me."
'Aww!' the kids wined, and she smiled. "Now... don't be upset. It was one of our great adventures together..."
'Where is your husband now?' She twitched at the question and she felt a pain in her core. She set the girl down on the ground and stood. "Why don't you kids get on home to your parents, all right? We will have another story time soon." they all nodded and ran off to catch up with their parents. A few waved at her and she nodded to them. She needed to be distracted.... she just needed to shake off that question. She looked around for some distraction and discovered a new person walking into the courtyard. The lady's white dress was muddy around the bottom and her bare feet looked worn and tired. She walked over to the girl and smiled lightly. "It looks like you have come a long way, wry traveler. Welcome to Avaren. I am Tiy..." she smiled.

Amaya looked up to the woman and smiled. "It's very nice to meet you Tiy. My name is Amaya." She said extending her hand to shake. "Yes, I have come a long way.... so that is what this place is called...Avaren." She said while looking around. She was in awe. She hadn't seen a place so advance since her own village. For a moment she thought that she could make this place home, but that thought quickly left her mind.

The girl gave her her name and they shook hands. She confirmed that she had come a long way and she looked around the town. It was indeed quite spectacular if you stood back and actually looked at it. She smiled. "Indeed! Where are you headed, Amaya?"
She would help the girl get used to the city if she wanted the help. She knew what it was like leaving family behind and coming to a new place. She just wanted to, as a member of the Ruling Council, to make a good impression and make sure that her subjects were where they wanted to be and needed to be. Comfortable and safe.

Amaya smiled nervously.
"I... I don't really know... I haven't had a chance to think about it. I'm a wondering healer, so I thought that I would find a lake somewhere and set up camp. Unless you know of a place that is in need of my assistance." She said. She was use to being outside all of the time. In fact she preferred it.
After leaving the estate, staying in a home seemed wrong. It always brought memories back of him, and of the family that she lost. She made up her mind when she left that she wouldn't look back. That she wouldn't regret her decision. She did what she had to. She did what was necessary to keep her family alive. That was all that mattered, even if they would never really know her.

She nodded and listened. A healer? How interesting. She had been teaching herself healing potions, but it would be even more of an accomplishment to be a healer, if what this lady said was true. She thought for a moment. The lake was surrounded by robbers and murderers... she would feel uneasy about saying yes that the girl could set up out there. It just wouldn't be right. She would much rather if she was in the market place, or just down the road from it. She put her finger to her lips thoughtfully.
"Well... I honestly wouldn't feel safe if our newest subject set up by the lake," she said honestly. "I would much rather if you set up by the end of the market place? There's a strip of road with no homes or stores on it between the Market place and the homes just north of it. The lake is surrounded by robbers and murderers..."

The wind blew again, gently behind her.
"It's very sweet of you to worry about me, especially since you don't even know me. But I have to be honest, I feel much better around water. It is much more pure than the area that is surrounded around people. I will be more than happy to walk to the market place on a daily basis to see if there is anything that I can do. And please do not concern yourself about my safety. I am more then capable of protecting myself. So as long as there is no law against my setting of camp at the lake, I would much prefer to be there. I do not wish to be a bother to any one."
Amaya smiled at her sweetly. She didn't want to be a bother, or to worry any one. She wasn't even sure if she was going to stay here. But if they needed her here more, she would be more then happy to oblige.
Suddenly, something odd struck her about the woman she was talking with. There was something sad about her. She empathized with her pain.
"But like I said, I would be more than happy to stay in the market place if I am need here."

"There is no law I can think of. Just be careful." she smiled sweetly back at the girl. Sure, she didn't know her, but that was no reason for her to be concerned about someone living under her council. She nodded at her and then shook her head. "You're not a hindrance... we just want to make sure you're safe while you settle in here. But I may come see you for some old wounds of my own..." she placed a hand on her side at the memory of it.
Looking at the girl again, she felt a comfort come over her. Perhaps the woman had seen just how upset she had been moments before? She sighed, relived that the sorrow was less now and she smiled at the girl again. "If you ever need anything... you can always find me around the market place by day and at my home up the road at night..."

Amaya smiled at the woman.
"Please do come for a visit, any time. I can help you now if you need me to. But please understand, I can only heal physical wounds."
She quickly untied her satchel and began to prepare herself.

The woman was willing to help her here and then. She smiled at the girl and then laughed lightly, lowering her voice. "Is there anyway we can go to my home? I'm afraid where the wound is would not be very well.... displayed in public..." She motioned to her side just below her breasts, hoping that Amaya would understand.
Her home was just through the market place and it would take all of ten minutes to get there, that is... if Amaya said yes. She hoped so... whatever that prick had hit on her side, he got her good. It was a couple years later and she was still feeling pains if she bent the wrong way.

Amaya smiled sweetly to Tiy and giggled to herself.
"Of course we can do this at your house. I understand completely. I will just follow you then." She said as she retied her satchel.

She smiled and nodded, once and firm. She was glad the young gal was willing to help and was in high spirits. She then led the way through the busy market and down the familiar dirt road. They got to her large home at the end of the road and she opened the gate for them. She walked up to her door and opened it, offering Amaya to walk into the entrance hall and then to the bedroom down the hall. "After you," she smiled.

Amaya smiled as she followed the women in to her home. She began to untie her satchel yet again so that she can begin to work.
"Now, if you don't mind showing me the wound." She said, suddenly becoming serious.
Amaya let her satchel unfold onto a near by table. She took a bandanna and tied it around her head so that her hair wouldn't get in her way.

Tiy watched as the girl became serious. She smiled lightly and nodded. She pulled up her tunic, displaying her side. She tied the tunic up to her opposite side and scooped it under her breasts so not to expose herself. She watched Amaya tie her hair back and she stood next to her, holding her arm up, but watching curiously. As often as she was able to create potions that would help heal, she was interested to see her use just her powers of healing to heal a very old wound.
"I was stabbed at a failed attempt at my life a couple years ago... but it hurts to this day..." she explained... not sure what else to say.

Amaya looked at the wound and nodded.
"So it's an old wound..." She said as she looked at it carefully. She went over to where her satchel was unfolded and begin to mix different herbs in a mortar and petal until it was it became a soft white balm.
Amaya then walked back over to the woman and rubbed her hands together. "You are going to feel a sudden bit of heat and pressure. It might hurt, but I must ask you not to move."
