He likes to comment on situations he gets himself into even when no one is around, and he is committed to his duty, and to doing what's 'right' in the grand scheme of things. Also though he does have powers of his own her really doesn't trust magic all that much. Especially Ancient magic that's been hidden away with no apparent reason such magic seams to bight him in the ass nearly every time.
History:
Born to King Sharaman Ishtar ruler of one of the greatest kingdoms East of Avaren, and named after a god worshiped by a neighboring kingdom. Horus has an older brother named Malik that at the moment is ruling a large part of the kingdom for his father. He was raised as a warrior and an athlete, and he's trained himself in some natural magics with the mystical Djinn, which have been friends with his family for centuries.
He fought in his fathers army for about a year or so. They ran into a bit of ancient magic and an army of undead sand creatures which is when he found his Dagger and the Djinn first gave him some powers. During his fight with the Sand Army his dagger bestowed him with the ability to control time to a limited extent, however since the armies defeat his feats have been forgotten and the power of the dagger remains dormant. Still he kept it not wanting its power to fall into the hands of someone that might use it for Evil.
According to the Djinn the Daggers power could be released again, but that he would have to master the elements. He in retrospect the Dagger had sort of caused all the trouble(its powers where directly related to the army), so he really doesn't want to release the power again. Still he protects it.
Today he is on his way to a kingdom to the west, Avaren. His father heard of the kingdom's history its defeat of Aesir, a city of magic and wants to make allies with them. So the King sent the one son that was available.
