The Triumphant Return

[Bloodwing]

Trumpants sounded a people cheered as the hero returned unscathed with his prize, with the woman on a valiant steed after having bested the hordes of the undead in the fallen city of Aesir.

No that wasn't exactly true. no one cheered of clapped or even decided to look twice at the people that had come into the city. On a horse followed by a wolf. the people where as dull as ever but Bloodwing sure felt triumphant.

She smiled at him, as they reached the city. She helped him down off of her horse and then looked down at her arm. It was still red, probably from the fire he used to heal it, but she was still going to go to the medic to get it checked out. She smiled at him and nodded to him. "I won't tell a soul you called for help." she teased. "But I am going to go see the medic at the warrior barracks. I'll hope that our paths meet again. Good day!" she tapped her horses' sides and then was off towards the wall at the far western border of the kingdom.

Bloodwing dismounted the horse. "Thank you, and I Ppreciate the ride. he said. Once she was gone he made his way to the Tavern he had stayed at the other day. A few of the regulars from before where there, "DAMN IT!" Came the voice of one. And he other such remarks traveling around the room as they realized he had come back alive and the ones that bet against his return weren't happy. "Any of you guys seen 'er?" "How one asked "The one you lost 10 copper to." He said remember this particular man's bet.

Dressed in her traditional white robes, Luna had been staying at the pub while Alex was gone. She had been praying to her star for his safe return. She spent her days within eye-shot of the tavern incase he returned early. Silly... she was acting like a school girl... this man had caught her attention, just by his looks and mannerisms alone... that was at first at least. She then had felt a connection with him she had never felt with anyone before.

She was going to make the big bucks if he came back... try over three hundred gold. All that was stacked against him that he wasn't returning, but she knew that he was. She could feel it. 'Eh, gorgeous. I'll bet ya fifty copper he won't have 'nother roll in the hay with ya.' some ass said from the back. She rushed over to him and bent over the table, smirking at him. "Oh really? I'll take that bet..." she flipped out her parchment and quill and had him sign next to his bet. She smiled as she tucked the parchment back into her cleavage. "Too bad he owes me." she winked at him after whispering his loss.

Then the door opened and people gasped. She turned round quickly and rushed to him, tackling him to the floor, making sure to adjust her weight so he didn't get hurt. "ALEX!" she giggled as she held onto him. "We're rich!" she winked and kissed his cheek before sitting up next to him and glancing at the book in his arms.

The whit blur of her dress and figure rushed at him his reflexes where a little better than before and he was able to grab her before he toppled back with her. he had also soften the ground a bit so the impact wasn't to hard. "Of course we are Half the people don't know a dependable person when they see one. And what a beautiful dress you have on. Compared to you I look like a begger." He said looked down at his red tunic and black trousers.

"Oh and as you can see they had the book I was looking for." He said as if it was lucky it hadn't been checked out. The book itself looked like a big black box made of volcanic rock because he had basically encased it in magma to protect it. I'll Be reading it later, but for now what about you and me? I know there still a bet or two that has yet to technically be fulfilled." He said grabbing her rear and holding her to his waist before giving her a peck on the lips. Both where still on the ground.

She glanced at his attire and smiled lightly. "Oh... this is my traditional gown from home... I wore this on a daily basis at home. I just didn't feel like digging it out during my journey here," she stated. Luna nodded as he stated that they didn't see a dependent person when they saw one. If he had only heard what they had said about him while he was gone... but, no matter. He now had his hands on her ass and had lifted her up on him and kissed her lips lightly. She giggled, just as she did when they left for their first horizontal lamabada. And more men grunted.

She stood up, pulled the parchment from her cleavage and held it up in the air. "Now before I leave you until the morning... Where's my money!" She demanded. She looked around as people pulled out their bags and put their bets on the table. She pulled up her dress to make a little pouch and then slipped all the money into the pouch, thanking them each with a smirk and a cute, yet heavily sarcastic 'thank you'.

She turned back to Alex, smiled, and held out a hand to him. "Shall we?"

He allowed her to help him up. "I hope we shall." He said. Standing on his feet. Brushing the dirt off. A question occured to him, but he decided no to ask it. He noticed he wasn't making him 'work' for it this time. He concluded it was because she had bets on the act. anyway. Still he couldn't help wonder if she had fallen for him. Such Admiration he could certainly admire in a mate, even if the mate wasn't a dragon.

He would find out after the Beast with Two Backs was created, just in case it was a lapse in memory. But he did have to ask. "You want to get strait to it or you want to have some food first I haven't had anything for two days and I really could use some red meat." He said not mattering either way, though he would have more energy if he ate something first.

She looked at him as she said that he hoped they shall and then his smile faded as he looked like he was thinking about something. She wondered if it was about her and weather or not he had caught on that she was not making him work for it. She bit her lip and then heard him ask about having something to eat. She nodded firmly once, and looked at the barmaid. "A steak practically mooing with potatoes and a beer, and a few apples to our room please. Leave it at the door." The bar maid nodded and then went to start making the meals.

"There." she smiled as she pulled Alex up the stairs. She walked into their room and set the coins on the bed. She separated it by type of coin and then put them all in three different baggies. She tossed them in her trunk and then turned to him, smiling lightly. Her eyes fell to the large rock of a book in his arms and tilted her head to the side lightly. And her smile faded. She knew what that book meant.

She practically dragged him up stairs no that he wasn't happily following her, and looking forward to what was to come. Once in the room he sat on the bed and watched as she counted her money. She then turned and fell on the book that was in his arms, and he smile faded. "Copper for your thoughts?" He asked.

Had he told here all his plans? was she second guessing his methods. Why did she frown at the book. "I hope your not planning to steal it" He said suddenly deadly serious. He hadn't thought of that until just now.

She did not speak just yet, thinking about how to say what she wanted to say. But when he said, seriously, that she better not think about stealing it. She snapped her eyes up at him and gave him 'the look'. "Why would I steal it? I can't even read it. There would be no benefit in it for me." she nodded. And, saved by the bell, the barmaid was at the door. She walked over to the door and grabbed the tray of food. "Just charge my bill." she said shortly and closed the door.

Luna walked over to the two chairs by the coffee table by the fire place and set the tray down. She sighed lightly. "I'm sorry Alex. I just know that that book will help you earn your freedom to your original form..." she said quietly, not looking at him, but instead, looking at the hearth of the fireplace. Something in her... did not want to loose what they had.

Just because she couldn't use it didn't mean it wasn't valueble there where those that could read and those that could destroy it and well she had a dark side to her but then she said something and she didn't look at him made him stop and think. He stood up and walked over to the table. Where she had placed the food. Food she had placed on her tab. from the short time he had known her he knew that wasn't like her.

He walked right up to her and brushed his hand through her hair. "WHat is it that you fear from such an achievement. I have a vendetta on the humans not you, though I wouldn't be to close when that Pandora's box opens. I won't be after you so far you've done nothing but provide me pleasure.." He said moving behind her and placing his hands on her shoulders his lips kissed her neck sensually. "Or is it something more?" He wanted to hear her say it.

Standing there, she felt what her mother only told her about: a rage that only grew when the ones you loved threatened to leave you. She felt her hands clasp into fists and her shoulders tightened as she waited to hear what he had to say. He walked over to her and she felt his hand in her hair. She refrained from purring lightly. He asked what she would fear, that he was after the humans, and that he wouldn’t be after her. He slipped behind her, setting his hands on her shoulders and kissing her neck. She wanted to tilt her head and give into the moment. But she reached up and grabbed his hands, squeezing thightly.

“Is it not obvious?” she asked in a whisper.

It wasn't obvious to him but he knew something was bothering her and it was really ruining his chances. "If it's not you life you fear for then it must be something else. Is it you heart? If so do you remember the last night we where together, well more the morning after. But still do you remember?" He asked her.

Sighing lightly, she took a deep breath and listened to him. She rested her chin on his hand and nodded lightly. She did remember. How could she forget? She never wanted to forget. She sighed lightly and then shook her head lightly. "It'd not my life i fear, and of course I remember..." she turned around and held his hands in hers. "I don't want to forget." She thought for a moment searching his eyes. "But go on."

She was interested in what he had to say about that night... about that morning, for that matter. She hated how curious she was becoming now that she was around humans more... but it was only nature. But still, she waited.

"Firstly I must say that it was a wonderful night, but that night before you woke me I had a dream." He said. "ANd ever since I haven't been able to get out of my head. Well in the dream I started out alone on top of it all. the ruler of all of avaren, But it wasn't until the end just before you woke me that I truly felt on top of the world." He grinned and instead of kissing her cheek he nuzzled into her skin takingin in her sent not much different than a cat. For a dragon this was as sensual as a kiss as in their true form they had no lips just teeth, and fire.

"At that moment you where there with me like a gift, and you wanted me no less than you do now. My dear, if you are loyal to me I will never leave you. Dragon's honor." A dragons honors was a powerful promise dragons didn't break vows like that lest it tarnish their honor. The only time they broke such a promise is if the other party broken it first in which case the first betrayer would probably end up eaten. "All I really have to know is if you really want my loyalty. My loyalty isn't exactly cheap but then again. Your not exactly cheap are you." He said wrapping her in his arms and placing one hand on her belly and other on her 'chest. as he held her against his own form.
