Finally he had it he had the book. Izlin thought he wouldn't be able to do it and look here he was holding it in his hands. The book was encased in black, glass-like rock. The stone would be easy enough to break, but first he needed to find somewhere relatively private.
It was nearly midnight and the Library was empty. So he sat at a table and dropped the book on the marble of the table and the stone shattered. He began brushing the black stone finding that the binding and cover where indeed made of dragon hide. and he was sure the parchment was treated by dragon's oil so that the entire book was fire proof.
Finally at long last he opened the book and looked at it pages. The first thing he noticed was that the Book was written in draconic. Which was good meaning very few would be able to learn what power he was gaining, and he could use other lack of knowledge to his advantage and mold the minds of those that followed him the way he wanted.
The beginning of the book was written like a bible telling their creation story. about the first to dragons and an epic war between the races. Their where two dominant gods Bahamat a benevolent god of protection that wished for peace and and his sister a five headed dragon of destruction and chaos that wanted nothing more than what she symbolized, Her name was Tiamat.
There was also a record of the draconic royal liniage which he could care less about and then there was magic. And here is where he began to study.

"You speak draconic." Came a voice from behind Bloodwing. It was a statement, rather than a question. After all, if it were a language he did not understand, he would likely be flipping idly through the book, instead of appearing to actually study the book. He recognized the writing from a distance, here looking over his shoulder.
Upon the man's insistence on knowing the location of his book, Izlin figured he would be another story of one of those foolish enough to travel to the ruins and never return. Evidently his skill in magic was much more than he had demonstrated. Though, what sort of magic was he looking for that the dragons had written about? Furthermore, where had he learned the language, when so few dragons still lived?

Bloowing heard the man speak and turned to see who it was. It was Izlin. The man that made him uncomfortable for no reason. "Aye that I can. Learned how from my mentor years ago. He died shortly after the great war." This was the time that the majority of the dragons died off he decided on a story that would make sense to himself. he wasn't sure what Izlin knew, but if he knew about the dragons then it would make sense, if not, and he found out it would still make sense. "He's the one that told me about the book."
Then he smiled. "The rumors are right by the way the undead crawl like maggots on the corpse of Aesir. They're being controlled by some unholy knight that I didn't care to learn the name of while he was attempting to run me through. Wouldn't suggest going back there." He said.

Perhaps it was plausible that he has learned draconic in Aesir back before the fall, yet this wasn't highly likely. Generally, when he had interacted with the mages, he had always spoken their tongue and refrained from teaching them his own language, which was private among his kin. "So, what then do you need a book of draconic for? What exactly does it hold that would be of use to you?"
"And the knight just happened to let you into his city to take his book?" Izlin said. His suspicions were once again cropping up. By all reasoning, this man could very well be exceptionally skilled. Yet, it could be just as likely that he was somehow connected to the undead in a much more insidious way. This, at least, would explain Izlin's own misgivings about him. Still, jumping to conclusions was not usually the best of ideas.

Wow Izlin asked alot of questions good the Bloodwing was good at coming up with answers on the fly. "Firstly, no i just said that the knight was trying to run me through, and thats after sending hordes of undead at me In fact he had me cornered and nearly killed me. I barely escaped with my life, and that reminds me I owe the barracks a horse." He said, remember the horse he had 'borrowed.'
"As for my reasons. to tell the truth, on his deathbed my Mentor told me something about this book being the 'key.' And why do you need to know it's more sentimental than anything. I couldn't vary well let the undead find it and possibly use it, if they can. " Maybe sounding a litttle offended at the prodding would throw this man off.

Unfortunately, Izlin was not thrown off in the slightest. He could little afford any sort of sentimentality to give him cause to hesitate. When dealing with magic, even overlooking minor details could lead to catastrophe. If it were true that the undead would have benefited from this book, that implied it had powers beyond simple sentimental value. Izlin desired to browse through it and see what might be found within, so that he could pass judgment on the contents.
"Well, taking into consideration your new position within the academy, can I assume you will be cataloging the book with our library and leaving it here when you are not reading it? sentimental value or not, we value free exchange of information. Books from Aesir are usually in greater demand now that expeditions to the city are banned."

Izlin's suggestion of leaving the book struck a deep chord. Leave the book in the unworthy hands of men again? He thought a moment. "I guess I could leave it here the knowledge is free to those that can obtain it." He said sure not many people in the school would be able to read it. "Any forms I need to fill out I would like to have some credit for retrieving it." He really didn't want the book in the hands of people again, but he had to keep face.

"Any forms and other paperwork I can fill out when you're done with it." He replied. That would give him plenty of time to give it a look and see what sorts of magic it potentially contained. If he could make use of it, all the better. If it was all dark or dangerous in nature, he could then confront Blood Wing.
"After all, I also speak draconic, so I should have no trouble cataloging it properly."

So Izlin could speak draconic. he had half a mind to just ask if the man was a dragon, but such a question would beg a retort so he refrained. "How will I find you when I'm finished then?" He asked.

"I am almost always around the academy, so it should be easy to find me. Though, if for some reason I am not around, simply find a scribe and have them bring the book to me. I trust them all, so I doubt they would do anything with your book."
After a minute or so of hesitation, Izlin continued, "Also, unless you are completely fluent, which would be quite a feat unless you were actually a dragon, I would be more than happy to attempt to help you decipher anything from your book that you have interest in."

Bloodwing nodded, "Thank you sir. If I need your help I'll let you know." He said "And if you don't mind me asking Where did you learn to speak draconic?" He asked curiously Maybe he should start getting to know Izlin more.

Izlin wasn't terribly concerned about his secret, yet for whatever reason he didn't trust this man with it. So he figured he'd take a page out of Bloodwing's book and make something plausible up. "In Aesir, long ago, when I had friends who were dragons. We used to speak often. I learned draconic from other dragons."
This actually wasn't really a lie. After all, being a dragon himself, he had learned the language always spoken to him while growing up. Of course, the same story could also be true of a mage who had many friends among the dragons.
