The woods have always been a dangerous place. Ever since the Children were small. But now the woods have grown into a forest and it has grown merciless…. Once, long ago the Children in The Village had parents. That was twenty years ago. Now all the adults have long since died out from a strange disease. The forest floor has grown dangerous, where strange beasts wander and often kill those who venture down into the undergrowth. The Children assumed they went rabid in the beginning, but now they know something far more sinister is at work. The animals from the forest are being changed; they are becoming more aggressive and perfect killing machines. The Council of the Village knows something but they aren’t telling the rest of the Children.
But I’ll tell you, one of the Council members has gone over to the Dark and is slowly making the others turn as well. He has been tempted by the Dark magic and instead of staying with the elements like he should have; he has begun to manipulate life forces, even bones. He was the one causing the animals to become dangerous and possibly even the one to cause the parents to die. But of course no one knew this, not even all of the Council, though they had their suspicions.
But there is something you might be able to do, young one! There is an alliance growing in secret called the Protectors, who are trying to keep the Village safe. You might be able to bring these Protectors out into the open. You might be able to uncover the secrets. Perhaps you are the hero the Children need.
