The day was dieing as night began to swallow the sky. And it was now that the thieves and assassins made their rounds. Most people with a love for their life and possessions would stay clear of the back allies of Avaren but Alex had his reasons for wearing an expensive looking cloak a as he traversed the ally on his way to the local Tavern.
He did so because he wanted the attention of those with no care for the Laws of Avaren. He was using himself as bait, and he hoped to befriend those that needed his help the most. Even if they didn't know they needed his help.

Now, it was true that most people avoided the back alleys, especially when it got dark. This could not be said, however, for a certain brown-haired teenage boy who went by the name 'Seam'. There were many reasons for his lurking in the dark this night, but one stood above them all.
This was where he lived.
So, said boy, after sleeping behind someone's stone steps for much of the day, was just beginning his rounds. It wasn't everyday that a nobleman decided to stupidly walk through a dark alley completely unprotected and he, for one, was not going to let this man remain uneducated. After following him from a distance for a block or two, Seam cut a few corners, jumped a couple gates, and arrived just in time to end up in front of the obvious rich man.
Pretending to mind his own business, Seam walked towards him, absent-mindedly checking his nails and looking away as they neared each other. Pretending to not notice, he walked into him, checking his shoulder with his own as he slipped a hand in a pocket, looking for a coin purse of some sort.
He only had a second to do this, and he had to do it right.
He felt his fingers slip around a small string. Purse string?
What felt like minutes of searching was really a split second, and with that, Seam pulled away, palming the pouch and mumbling a 'sorry' as he went on his way.

Alex actually leaned into the shoulder check. And pushed the man away with a bit of force as if he was in a bad mood. "You need to watch you step, Peasant!" He said turning around in mock anger. He force the ground right in front of the boys feet to heave upward to interrupt the thief's stride.
Assuming the boy tripped as was planned Bloodwing moved towards the boy who had just picked his pocket. A fact Bloodwing knew because as he turned to the boy he felt into his pocket to make sure. "You know there are times that asking for you want is the easier way out." He said his mood seemed to change. He held out a hand to help the boy up.

In a matter of moments after the man had yelled at him, Seam found himself tripping over what seemed like the very earth. That didn't make sense, though, so he must have just stumbled on something or had bad footing, or, something.
His palms stung where they hit the ground, as well as his knees. He looked up only to find a hand offered to him, and though wary of accepting help from a stranger he'd just tried to pickpocket, grabbed the hand and stood up. He didn't have the patience for this sage-like advice.
"What do you mean?" He asked, still slightly peeved from tripping so badly.

"I mean if you wanted a coin you could have just asked." He explained. after the boy was on his feet he kept his hand held out for his pouch. "Not like you where going to get much with those fake coins anyway." He said "What's your name." he asked the urchin. and the Coins weren't fake he just wanted to see how gullible the kid was.

Seam held back a sneer as the man explained himself. He might have been a thief, but he was no beggar. He worked for his money, for his food, whether his 'work' was legal or not.
"If they fake, then," he started, feeling the pouch in his hand and keeping it, "They worth more to me than you." He poured the coin into one of his own pockets, feeling the jingle--which certainly felt real enough, but he couldn't be sure, not in this town of magic tricksters--and giving the man back his empty pouch.
"My name's Seam."

Bloodwing raised a brow. the boy was clever, and could be useful. But with this attitude of his. he's have to use more than wit to get what he wanted. "Well if you want to keep that money why don't you buy us drinks" he said. there where only a few gold coins but that was a actually pretty good. If the kid wanted to defend the money that badly he's show the kid why he should listen, and do what he says.

Though he wasn't one to trust strangers, he did feel a slight desire to go get a drink. It'd been a long day, a cold night, and it'd been a while since he'd been somewhere warm, drinking something good. There weren't exactly many taverns to choose from in this area, anyway.
Grudgingly, he shrugged a shoulder.
"Sure." He tried to act like it didn't matter. "Lead the way."

Bloodwing grinned and walked up to his side, and walked beside Seam. So he could watch the boy. He didn't trust the boy in fact he wanted nothing more that to tear him apart for daring to steal his gold. He was a Dragon and his gold was his gold he didn't even like spending it but this is how things where done in the human world so he would sacrifice what he needed to.
(we can continue this in the Tavern.)
