So it seems Malachy had gotten himself into an adventuring group. And so here he was in his room looking for his book. where had it gone. He search his shelf , and all the obvious places. And had yet to find it. He finally found his book under the bed. and spent a few moments wonder how it had gotten there. then He grabbed his wand and headed out the door.

"You sure are off in a hurry, aren't you." Came a voice from a side hallway. Stepping into the corridor was the leader of the academy, Izlin. He didn't really know Malachy all that much, more than perhaps a name on a roster, but that relation was all it took to find him in his own academy.
He had heard some rumors that did not sit well with Izlin. Something in particular about a loud display in a bar and the conversation that followed it. Now, he was in no position to impose his will over particular courses of action on others, but he did think it was important to find out the truth behind rumors involving people attending his academy.
"Word on the street, if it is to be believed, says that you and some others have been loudly expressing a desire to travel to the fallen city. Would you like to comment on these rumors?"

Great it was well known that after that new teacher had come back from the fallen city; Izlin had decreed the place forbidden. Now what should he do lie, tell the truth? Well he had to answer so he decided. "The rumors are true sir. I was born there, and I'd like to see if there's anything worth salvaging. I'll be accompanied by a holy man. So we won't be with out the protection of the light, and we'll have at least one other, someone with muscle going with. So we wont be with out physical force. I expect the quest won't be to terrible. Even if there are undead involved." He said sounding sure of himself.
He told the truth, only because he was sure the man would be able to tell, and maybe insulted by a lie. which wouldn't get him very far. also What exactly could Izlin do to him? Banish him? Kill him, Not like either would matter he had already lost everything short of his life in the fallen city he might as well reclaim some of his former life even if it was in the form of a book from the library, or some trinket of bronze.

Honesty was refreshing, especially after talking with Alexander. Izlin was convinced the man was lying at every turn, yet he didn't act on it as he had no real evidence aside from his gut feeling. Nor did Malachy try to skirt around the point, instead going straight into justifying himself and explaining his plans.
"You are aware that almost every other expedition to that city to this day has ended in tragedy." There was that one with Alexander, but Izlin considered it a special case. "I am not quite certain that a party of three will meet with a high degree of success, though there is nothing I can overtly do to force you to stop. I would hear more of your plans, if you are willing. I trust you have made more detailed plans beyond the concept you have outlined to me just now?"

Malachy nodded, "We if we can get more people to come with us it would make things a bit easier. In fact if you wish to tag along sir by all means don't hesitate to ask. But as for specifics, other than me being the one who knows where things where and being a guide, there aren't really any. we plan to basically loot what we can. We'll probably visit the the school, the library, and if we can get to it the palace. and bring back as much as we can carry." He explained.
"Do you have any suggestions sir? I mean other than to just not go." Malachy asked hoping maybe for more help.

Izlin considered the offer for a minute or so. Ultimately, it felt that his response had already been made for him, without even needing to have considered the expedition. "No, I am sorry but I cannot. My duties are with the city, this academy in particular. It would be highly irresponsible for me to abandon them for a dangerous mission with highly uncertain outcomes. However, if you present me with a solid adventuring group with a more detailed and well-thought plan, then the academy will support you in whatever means possible."
"As for suggestions? Well, you have the idea for more people. They will have to be exceptionally well armed, as well, as this is no simple looting trip. Furthermore, I would advise that you only explore the ruins themselves during the day. For whatever reason, the undead seem less fierce then than at night. Should the sun start to set while you are within the city, depart immediately and set out again with the dawn."
"Of course, my main suggestion is to simply abandon your journey altogether, though I doubt this is an option you will consider."

Malachy nodded. "Thanks for the advice. Seems I'll be heading to the barracks." Malchy said thinking to himself yeah he hadn't thought of it but beginning that city at night would ba a death sentence. The undead where far more powerful in the darkness. and there where some undead that could only cause trouble when the sun was absent.
Still, his mind was made up he was going.
