Alezand Jozlyn is a young, promising warrior of virtue.
Well skilled in most forms of blade and sword craft, he is unmatched by his pupils. A young man who inherited the destiny to rebuild the clan of noble warriors who defended the people and the kingdom with honor, the Allaine. This cult of legendary warriors originally arose in *********. Sadly, nefarious forces set out to drive the Clan to all but extinction. Scattered into hiding, prophecy was made that a man born of emerald heritage down the line of warriors who fought proud with the crest of the raptor's claw, would rise to bind the clan together again an drive the darkness from the land. Alezand started his path as part of a local militia derived from the Army of Avaren.
Alezand is the last remaining member of a centuries old group of peacekeepers. They served no particular king, just good rulers and their kingdoms. Protectors of all people from the dark evils of the world around. They called themselves the Allaine, and were separated into many clans. Many clans had legends and myth surrounding them of their service to the common good of all. Alezand was born into the prestigeous Raptor clan, among the most powerful and influential of the clans. Warriors and mages alike, all following the same code of fellowship, camaraderie, honor and acceptance of different people and a mandate to protect them all. They were diplomats before soldiers, and both men and women together, from all over the known world.
But forces of evil, united only in their hatred of this fellowship of light, conspired together to bring their most dangerous foe down. Traitors were made, and allied dark minions, grouped under a nameless banner ambushed and assasinated members of the good fighters. Great battles were fought, but the Allaine had been deceived and betrayed at every turn, until there were nearly none left. His parents sensing the plight of their people, hid Alezand shortly after his birth, and then died in a last stand at one of the Allaine strongholds.
Alezand was raised with the knowledge of his heritage, and before he was 10 years of age, he was the last true Allaine warrior by birth. He grew up sheltered, but it wasn't long before darkness discovered him. At first, they tried to turn him, for he was only a child. But he proved to hold the stalwart heart of his bloodline. So they broke his heart.
The details of this event are unclear for now, but it is known that when Alezand was 17, he was desperately in love with a beautiful young woman of the name Hermione Di'alee. Dark soldiers captured his love one last evening while he was out hunting. He returned in time to witness them cut her throat with a cursed dagger known as the Heart Shard. this weapon not only killed her, but stole her soul into it's blade. He fought as hard as he could, but he couldn't rescue her and had to flee before they killed him too.
And so he became a fugative, always on the move because the Darkness never ceased hunting him. But his adventures through the lands made him many friends. Tyanno Dynam was a son of a man who came to the Allaine to become one of their knights upon the order's twilight days. He perished along side Alezand's parents, before he was even properly intiated into the Order. Tyanno was captured shortly before Alezand lost Hermione, and was being held in a prisoner camp run by orcs and undead. Alezand rescued him in a daring raid. Aiding a clan of elves fleeing into the netherlands, Alezand recaived his armor and sword. The sword of made of a special elven metal that never lost it's shine. They claimed it had other powers, but Alezand hadn't figured out what they were yet.
Alezand travels and struggles made him a very adept swordsman and skilled in most other types of weaponry. His stealth and camoflage skills were unparalelled, and he soon learned that the best way to fight the Darkness was to strike within. He operated well in dark places or at night, and earned the title as "the candle in the darkness" for his lack of fear when fighting on the enemy's own field.
He eventually came to Avaren, and found it to be the perfect place for him to make his stand and to begin resurecting his people again. His gentlemanship is well known in the city and no deed is too small for him if it is in the interest of the people. His friend Tyanno eventually caught up to him and swore his life to Alezand's side, as his unofficial apprentice. Alezands other allies currently include Rith Matou, Adrienne, Shadow, and Mira Nightengale.
His primary weapon is the longsword afforded to him by the elves, but also carries a backup elven short sword, various daggers and knives, well consealed in his swirling cloak and tunic. He doesn't carry a sheild and wears minimal armor for he uses his speed and agility to dodge and out manuever his opponents. He is tall, 6' even, with short blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. He is thin, and is very atheletic.
Among Alezands long standing missions, he is still haunted by his failure in saving Hermione. He eventually plans to find the Dark, Dread Lord that hold the Heart Shard and kill him, take the Shard and set her free. But the Lord is well protected, and is even deeper within the Darkness's ranks than Alezand dares to go. But someday, they will meet and the fight will be of legend...
Alezand has resided in the kingdom of Avaren now for several years. Growing from a teenager to full young man with respect and honor aligned with his name. Throughout the tale of Avaren, the soldier can be found mentioned in many of the major events that has shaped the recent epic events. He prides himself as an unbiased champion of the law of free and equal people. He serves no direct crown per say, he only fights for the mutual good of the common folk. At times he has served with distinction in a kings ranks, but many a time has he found himself at odds with the principals of a dictator. It matters only that people are treated humanely and fairly on his watch.
Known as a veteran of combat and somewhat of a lone wolf, he does have many allies throughout the land, in both the main kingdom and in the floating Mage city. He is shrewd, chivalrous, and stubborn, with a tactical mind and fair reasoning. He often gets himself out of tough situations through sheer quick thinking and practiced expertise of a soldier. You needn't search for him, for he is often found in the middle of trouble, lending his sword for the cause of the law, or rallying the people. And when he does not want to be found, no one has a hope of doing so.
He stands about 6 feet tall, with a thich scrub of dirty blonde hair kept at medium length. His piercing blue eyes are ever on the watch as he patrols the various paths of the city and outer lands. He is robed in a long tunic and cloak of deep blue and green hues, its emblems the only trace evidence to his undisclosed past. Always seen armed with his long sword of foreign craft and one is sure to bet he has other tricks to the trade hidden on his person, for he never takes a day off from his self appointed duty.
Recent Avaren History: Alezand is a last surviving member of an extinct order of peacekeepers. He wandered from land to land, hunted occasionally by those who wish the complete destruction of his people. He landed in Avaren many years ago. He developed a reputation of being a do-gooder, roaming all over the kingdom performing acts of kindness, heroism and chivalry.
When members of the Church and the Queen started to imprison magic users without cause or trial, Alezand found himself at odds with that leadership. He was captured and imprisoned after a rescue attempt failed. He from there led an escape plan that did succeed, freeing many magi and allies of the magi.
After their escape, Alezand worked to form a militia colony on the outskirts of the kingdom, filled with those who were dedicated to opposing the oppression of the current regime. This colony was also allied to the mage city now revealed to be floating above the land. During this time, Alezand married the magi Adrienne.
The opposing force had at times made truces with the now Knight of the Free People, but there were also double crosses, and the Alezand had to fight close battles several times.
In the recent times, Adrienne has gone missing while Alezand's protege, Tyanno is away searching out rumors of possible lost members of their mysterious order. So Alezand is alone, and has returned to the kingdom now that things have calmed down. He was requested by the King to return and take a place in the Avaren Army and perhaps the ruling council...
