Luna sat on the edge of the wall... her feet dangling off the edge of it outside the wall. She was looking over the sea and wondering just what her parents were doing... how her family was... how the Sacred Kingdom she had come from was. It had been only a few months now that she had been gone, but something told her that a few years was probably called for in return for what she did. She sighed lightly and stretched her arms out beside her and then rested her hands on the stone wall either side of her.
She glanced over her shoulder, looking at the Kingdom behind her in the night. The torches along the walls lit up the streets, there was music and cheers coming from the tavern, lovers walking about holding hands and guards standing their stations. The town was peaceful, but her heart was not. Her heart was worried, heavy, and sorrowful for the things she had done back at home and she knew that she could not go back for sometime, though her soul was beckoning for it. Another long sigh emited from her lips and she heard footsteps; She looked up to see a guard standing a meter or so from her looking at her. She smiled lightly to him and he asked her if she was all right. She nodded lightly, shrugging and he nodded to her and then she caught his eyes glancing at his ears, she grinned. "Yes. Their real."
She was still fascinated that so many people had not seen Elven ears before. She had met another Elf living in the city, but of course... not every Elf wore their hair up, like she was doing currently. He smiled at her after mentioning having a good night and she nodded in respect to him and then looked back out over the water.
Her thoughts were jumbled, but one thing stood out: she needed a career change. She could go back to fighting since she was good at that... or maybe she could start an internship some place else. Being a villain was fun, but after a century of it... it was getting old.... 'What of it...?' she thought to herself, hoping someone new would show up and distract her from her current thoughts.

A figure dressed in in a long sleeved black shirt. a charcoal colored tonic black pants and a black cloak mad his way up the stair that lead to the top of the wall. Beneath the hood was a man of pale complexion from the lack of sunlight. He was a wizard Named malachy and he hadn't been able to get to sleep in the academy. So he decided to go for a walk. He made his way to the city walls thinking maybe a pleasant view might calm his nerves.
His nerves had been shaken all week. he would be going to Aesir again. he would be back hom within the city of the dead. he knew he wasn't prepared, and he was nervous. He passed a guard as he came up the stairs. The two nodded at each other. simply acknowledging each others presence as the walked past each other. Malachy noticed there was an elf up here too and he recognized her. He had half a mind to call that guard back to him but declined.
"Excuse me." He whispered walking over to her. "I think you have something of mine." He distinctly remembered being in a heavy crowd the other day when an elf walked past him, grabbed his coin purse, and then vanished into the crowd before he could do anything about it. He knew it was her. He rarely for got faces and it wasn't like there where many female elves in the city.

Luna grimaced at the idea of not being able to change what she had been doing for so long, but she knew she could. She had done it before and there was no reason she could not do it now. She sighed lightly and shifted her weight to one hand so she could brush her bangs behind her pointed ears and rub her neck lightly, still looking out over the water, her eyes glazed over with apparent sorrow.
She heard foot steps and heard someone say something to her... about her having something of theirs? She looked up, slightly confused, but gave no other thought. Probably someone she had stolen from. She centered her weight and then reached into the front of her low-cut dress and pulled out a purse of coins and handed it to him. "Sorry. Just down on my luck." she said quietly back at him, just holding out the purse and not really looking at him. She was just too distracted... there was too much sorrow on her heavy heart.

His brows raised as she handed him a coin purse. He took it it was a little heavier than his had been but he didn't point that out. Whe struck him more was the look on her face. He got down and sat with his legs crossed next to her. "Copper for your thoughts?" He asked. A little concerned she looked like she was thinking about jumping. he had been there once, wanted to end it all, and then he was reminded of a very special magic, and that was what he now pursued. However he wouldn't wish that sort of despair he went through on anyone.

Luna didn't hear him leave. Instead he sat down next to her, one leg crossed under the other, and looked at her a little concerned. He asked 'a copper for your thoughts'. She sighed lightly and looked at him. What harm could come of confiding in a stranger. She blinked and was silent for a moment before looking out over the water again.
"The same thing you confronted me about just now is the same thing I did that made me leave my people... It's just time to change and I'm not sure what to do. I did three hundred years of work with my kingdom's army, so maybe I could fight for Avaren... or take an internship in the city..." she looked at him. "When you live forever... there are these moments every century or so..." she sighed lightly and closed her eyes, turning her head down as if she were looking at her knees.

live forever, now wouldn't that be interesting. No, such ideas where what led to to his form of magic's dark side. No, He would see her a again and then he would join her. He thought to himself. "What's the worst that could happen if you went back?" He asked simply

What was the worst that could happen if she went back. Well... seeing as her family hated her for starting in the army and ending up a petty thief... she would probably have to work until they trusted her again. She could get her star taken from her so that she was no longer under the protection of the Kingdom. A lot could happen. She sighed again and looked up at him. "I could loose my star... my kingdom's protection... I could loose my family..." she shook her head. "I should just let things blow over and maybe head back in a few years."
She looked back up at him and was quiet for a moment. It was strange to have a stranger so concerned for her, but in a way it was comforting. She gave a meek smile. "Thank you," she said quietly.

Malachy raised a brow. He was an educated person he had read a little about elves and on immortals in general. And after having gone through a life crisis once he thought he had an idea of what to say. "Well, being here aren't you already lost to your family. It's not like your interacting with them here. and here you don't have your kingdom's protection. You basically banished yourself. Though I do wonder, how long does the memory and a grudge of an immortal last." He said sure that the answer was 'forever'.
"I'm not saying you can't run from your troubles, you seemed to have done so already, but if you run from your problems, the only way to escape them is to remove your self from your past and forget about it, again i ask how long an elf's memory lasts."

The stranger was right, in a way: her leaving her people lost her her family and the sweet protection of her village. But she still had her star, she left because her family silently rejected her. She looked at him as he spoke about removing herself from her past and forgetting about it.
If only she could.
An Elvin memory was very good, able to remember a conversation had hundreds of years ago... She looked out over the water again and then back at the man next to her. "I left because my family rejected me for what I did. They didn't say anything. And as long as I still have my Star, I am protected..." She reached down and pulled out a necklace from her robes with a small glowing crystal wrapped in vines of silver hanging from the end of a chain of mithreal. "I banished myself so that I could return at some point..."
