Scouting the Citadel

[Luna Grimm]

He repeated the question and she felt a little bad, but that's all she was curious about. A mage? Huh... Alex was a mage of sorts, but his powers were much different. So he was a man, just a mage. She smiled apologetically. "I meant no offence. I was just curious as to your grace..." she said quietly still going. She paused for a moment as she thought she heard something, so she held out a hand for him to stop and listened.

She turned to the left and looked up into the rocks of the ruins. "I think someone is following us..." she whispered.

Rylith stopped moving. After a few moments he spoke, "I mentioned no dis-figuration, nor did I say anything about you being appalled." Perhaps this was what they referred to as a Freudian slip? No, it couldn't be, it was more than just a minor slip of the tongue, she had evidently invented entire sentences in her head. Perhaps she was psychic in some way?

Still brooding over her comment,

He evidently missed the cue that caused her to believe they were being followed. "Really? Who is it, and where are they?"

She closed her eyes and let out a long sigh. She listened in the direction that the thing was in, and she opened her eyes as Rylith asked her the question as to who it was and where they were. She shook her head lightly. "It is not human... and it is up a couple levels from is among the rubble to our left..." she said to him quietly. "I say we keep going until they get closer and then ask questions... what do you think?" she asked, tapping her bow lightly as to imply that the thing following them would die if they did not answer.

"I am content with waiting right here for anything that comes our way." He hissed softly, still not sensing what she was talking about. Here was as good a location for a potential fight as any, and it was probably best not to wander into less familiar territory when they very well might soon end up under attack.

Lowering both arms to his side, he began muttering to himself, speaking words of arcane power that he had learned from his former master. Drawing upon the ever-present haze of evil energy that pulsed through the ruin, he attempted to focus it to his own ends.

"Why parley when we can instead ambush?"

She nodded, trusting that he knew how to stand his ground. She stood next to him and waited. It went silent when he began to mutter a spell she figured. "What ever it was... has hidden." she looked over where she heard the sounds and focused her eyes. "It's not there anymore..."

(ooc: you can speed things up and make a battle if you so choose =))

Rylith was somewhat annoyed. He came close to accusing her of making the entire thing up. After all, he hadn't noticed anything amiss and had gone solely on her words alone. Perhaps she just wanted to sound more important than she was? Maybe she just wanted to put him on his guard for some reason, perhaps even to see if she could get a glimpse of what he was capable of.

"Hmm, if there is nothing there after all, perhaps we shall move on?"

(ooc: I really had no idea what you had in mind to be lurking around, so if anything, I'll leave deciding that up to you ^_^)

Watching that one spot intently, she heard Rylith as he suggested moving on if there was nothing there after all. She could hear the annoyance in his voice and she assumed he figured she was lying. She shook her head at him and then watched as the figure appeared again. She pointed as she focused in. "I can't see them properly... their face is hidden by shadow... But I feel an eerie presence... They are either a mage or undead..." she said quietly. She placed an arrow on her bow and raised it towards the figure who was now standing in the open. "Why doesn't it hide..?" she thought aloud.

"Why don't you attack it first and question it's actions after it surrenders or dies." Rylith suggested simply, displeased by the amount of time they had spent fixated on this single anonymous individual. The whispers of the citadel beckoned him forward and he desired to answer.

"I am a mage, I have no weapons to ready or armor to protect me. I leave initiating trouble to you. I will be your support in any coming conflict."
